Joint replacement surgeons in Aurora

Our team is made up of orthopedic surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive surgery, including joint replacements, hip replacements, total knee replacements, arthroscopic joint reconstructions, sports injuries, limb preservation and disc replacements. Comprehensive care teams take care of each patient’s overall well-being including providing pre-operative classes for our spine and total joint surgery patients and post-operative rehabilitative services to regain limb function.

Preoperative total joint education

This class is intended for patients who are planning to have hip or knee replacement surgery at The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA). This class is free of charge and prepares patients for their surgery and recovery by covering the following:

  • Anatomy
  • Preoperative exercises
  • Precautions and limitations after surgery
  • Networking with other total joint patients
  • Postoperative nursing care
  • Pain management
  • Occupational/physical therapy
  • Equipment needs
  • Home safety and what to expect when you go home
  • Discharge needs

This free class is held at TMCA, located at 1501 South Potomac Street, every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Meeting Room 1.

We recommend patients take this class at least two weeks prior to surgery. You are encouraged to bring family members and/or caregivers who will be involved in your care after surgery.
