Infectious disease treatment in Denver

At The Medical Center of Aurora, our infectious disease team treats all forms of infection, including those caused by bacteria, virus, fungus, parasites and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Not all patients with infection need to see an infectious disease specialist. If you become seriously ill from infection, your primary care doctor may refer you to a specialist.

An infectious disease specialist is an internal medicine doctor with extensive training and knowledge in diagnosing and treating infectious diseases. Their training includes a comprehensive understanding of how the body’s immune system works, how infections spread and how to control infection, including the use of antibiotics.
