Why Choose Us?

Approved Community Hospital Cancer Program

The American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer (CoC) has designated The Medical Center of Aurora a Community Hospital Cancer Program (CHCP). This designation recognizes our commitment to diagnosing and treating a wide array of cancer types while providing personalized care. Cancer care at our hospital is provided by a multi-specialty team of board-certified doctors who utilize the most advanced tools and Commision of Cancerprocedures. Cancer patients at The Medical Center of Aurora have access to education, support and clinical research.

NAPBC Accreditation

The Breast Cancer Care Center at The Medical Center of Aurora has Full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have committed to providing the highest level of quality breast care and undergo an in-depth evaluation process and review of their performance.

Cancer Resource Center

In partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS), The Medical Center of Aurora provides cancer-related support to patients, their families and caregivers. Our Cancer Resource Center is staffed by trained and certified American Cancer Society volunteers who help visitors access the latest cancer information regarding tests, treatments, clinical trials and local resources for wigs, support groups, prostheses and transportation to treatment. The center is located on the first floor of the main hospital next to the gift shop.

Magnet Designation

In the fall of 2008, The Medical Center of Aurora received Magnet designation for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credential Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®. Our hospital is the only community hospital in the Denver metro area to qualify for this coveted honor. In addition, we are now one of only 5 percent of all hospitals in the nation to earn this designation.
