Do you accept International Medical Graduates?
Particularly well-qualified international medical school graduates may be considered for admission. International medical graduates must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Is U.S. clinical experience required for international graduates?
No, US clinical experience is not required but it is strongly preferred. We do not consider observerships, externships and/or preceptorships to be clinical experience.
Do you offer any observerships or preceptorships for international graduates?
We are not currently offering observerships, externships or preceptorships.
How long can I be out of medical school and still apply for your program?
Applicants must be recent (2 or less years) graduates from medical school to be considered competitive. Special exceptions will be considered for:
- Candidates entering a new residency after completion of a first residency in an ACGME accredited program
- Candidates with an MD or DO with a MPH/MS/PhD and extensive prior research experience after completion of an LCME or an AOA accredited medical or osteopathic medical school in the U.S. or Canada, or
- Candidates who have served a prolonged period as a general medical officer in the U.S. military.
Where can I find support in applying to Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)?
The ECFMG offers a service called ERAS Support Services to anyone who is ECFMG certified or nearing certification. The ERAS Support Services will issue the ERAS token, receive the applicant's supporting documents and transmits them to the ERAS Post Office, and provide client support between the various organizations.
More information can be found at: http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/schools-overview.html.

We participate in the AOA match and not the NRMP match.

Applicants must have passed USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) Step 1 and have taken both components of Step 2 or the COMLEX (Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination) Level 1 and have taken both components of Level 2. For standardized test scores, those candidates who have passed both step 1/step 2 USMLE or level 1/level 2 COMLEX with high scores on the first attempt will be considered more competitive in that category.
