Certified Nurse Midwife Megan Leigh Dickey is an experienced provider for women, mothers and babies. She served as a labor and delivery nurse for more than a decade, including high-risk and indigent care. She has also served as a clinical instructor for RN students in obstetrics and mother/baby care.
Megan Leigh is skilled at normal pregnancy care as well as the ability to recognize and care for deviations and can institute measures to safeguard the well-being of the mother and baby. She has extensive knowledge of obstetric and neonatal complications and appropriate therapeutic interventions based on the specific needs of the patient. She also holds clinical experience first-assisting with Cesarean and gynecologic procedures.
Megan Leigh believes that midwifery care should be about empowering women to feel confident in their own power to make decisions alongside health care providers who they trust. Her philosophy lies in educating women and giving them healthy options, knowing the choices are ultimately theirs. She believes that a visit with a midwife should feel like a visit with a good friend who happens to be very well educated on women’s health.
Outside of the office, Megan Leigh enjoys spending time with her husband and her daughter. In her former life, she was a professional musician and still enjoys singing and playing the flute (and other instruments) when the opportunity arises. She also has two hairless show cats and call herself a “crazy cat lady.”
