Advanced Clinicals is the system that utilizes data from the pharmacy, laboratory, radiology and patient monitoring systems (Meditech) to relay the physician's or provider's diagnostic and therapeutic orders directly into the computer system. The system then transmits the information to the appropriate department for implementation. CPOE is commonly used as an abbreviation for the term Computerized Provider Order Entry.
The system also provides electronic provider documentation, real-time clinical decision support for issues such as dosage, drug interaction warnings, duplicate therapy warnings and more.
The Advanced Clinicals with CPOE project "go live" was March 25, 2014. Over the course of the past months, a team of Super Users and Master Trainers have diligently documented issues they discovered during the transition. Whenever possible, the issue was resolved immediately. Other issues were escalated to Division or Corporate for resolution.
