Upcoming Professional Education:

End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)

For healthcare providers, the comprehensive list of topics include: nursing care at end-of-life; pain management; symptom management; ethical/legal issues; cultural considerations in end-of-life care; communication; loss, grief, and bereavement; and preparation for and care at the time of death.

The complete course if offered over three 4-hour sessions. Registrants must participate in all three sessions to receive credit.

Making The Right Choices In Managing Pain - 6.00 CEs available

This event is for healthcare providers including therapists, pharmacists, nurses, and other clinicians interested in pain management. Physician session included at noon. Participants will learn how to identify the psychosocial effects of pain; four ethical principles associated with pain management; three principles for managing the chronic pain patient with an acute pain episode; and how to interpret and use an equianalgesic dosing guide.

Dr. Melanie Simpson from The University of Kansas Hospital returns as the guest speaker.
