The Medical Center of Aurora Names New Chief Operating Officer

AURORA, Colo., June 14, 2017 – HCA/HealthONE’s The Medical Center of Aurora (TMCA) and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital announced Mark Deno, MBA, FACHE, has been named Chief Operating Officer overseeing TMCA, Centennial Medical Plaza and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital. His new role is effective immediately.

Mr. Deno has been serving as Chief Administrative Officer of TMCA and Spalding since January 2017. Prior to this he had served as Chief Executive Officer at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital since 2014 and was the Market Lead overseeing rehabilitation services for HealthONE facilities in the Denver market. Mr. Deno moved to Colorado from Texas where he served as Chief Executive Officer of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington, an 85 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility.

He has served on our executive team since January and I am happy we were able to promote him into the COO position,” said Dan Miller, President and CEO of The Medical Center of Aurora and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital. “Mark has a strong background as a leader in health administration and I have no doubt that TMCA and our affiliated campuses will benefit from his extensive experience.”

Mr. Deno received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University and a Masters of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. He began his career in health administration overseeing surgery centers in Colorado and Texas.

At TMCA, Mr. Deno will oversee the integrated operations of The Medical Center of Aurora and Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital and will have executive oversight of Case Management, Pharmacy, Lab, Rehab Services and Orthopedic Services.

“I am very excited to be able to stay within the Aurora community and assume this new role,” said Mr. Deno. “The Medical Center of Aurora and our affiliated campuses, which now includes Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, are phenomenal facilities with a great team of staff and physicians as well as big plans for the future.”
